Galapagos Islands
Galapagos flights
The main ports to leave for the Galapagos are in Quito and Guayaquil, though you can get flights from Cuenca and other major cities that make connections in either Quito or Guayaquil. Only Guyaquil and Quito offer direct flights.
Flights to the Baltra and San Cristobal airports depart from Quito and stop en-route in Guayaquil. The Quito-Guayaquil flight lasts about 40 minutes, and the Guayaquil-Galapagos flight takes about two more hours. Since the archipelago is one hour behind mainland Ecuador, passengers leaving Quito in the morning will land before noon.
Flights go daily to Baltra or Puerto Baquerizo Moreno on San Cristobal. All flights from Quito to the Galapagos touch down in Guayaquil in each direction.
There are two airlines that fly to the islands, AEROGAL and TAME.
TAME is the national airline of Ecuador. TAME runs two daily flights to the Galapagos islands, leaving from Quito, stopping in Guayaquil, and landing at Baltra Airport. The flights leave during the morning, all weekdays.
AeroGal is a private company that has five weekly flights to the Galapagos (no flights on Saturday and Monday), leaving from Quito, stopping in Guayaquil, and landing at Baltra Airport. The flights leave during the morning, and the flight from Guayaquil is a bit cheaper.
