Galapagos Islands

Galapagos tours

Galapagos toursComing to the rugged Galapagos Islands is like travelling back in time to when the Earth was young. There is something biblical about this place, where humans walk among animals in peace. The animals on these islands never have developed fear of people. Visitors quickly learn to be careful not to step on them, including nesting birds with eggs.

No matter how many people have been here before, you will feel like an explorer standing on the edge of a new world. Many plants and animals thriving on these volcanic desert islands are found nowhere else on Earth. Some are endemic to just one island. Whether its flightless cormorants or lava cactus, everywhere you look, you see something you've never seen before.

Some nursing sea lions would look up when they sensed something approaching them and their noisily suckling pups. When they saw it was only humans they would lie down again. Some animals were oblivious to spectators, such as a succession of ever-larger sea lion bulls chasing off flippered competitors caught moving in on a group of sunbathing females.

The Galapagos National Park and Marine Reserve are globally unique and extraordinary ecosystems, recognized as World Heritage Sites. This isolated island group is among the best conserved of the worlds tropical archipelagos.

Galapagos Blue Footed BoobyThe Galapagos Island is one of the last and untouched paradises existing on earth that - like any other exclusive destination.

Most visitors consider a tour of Ecuador to be incomplete without having seen the Galapagos Islands. One-week yacht tours of the Galapagos are the norm, and truly the best way to see the Enchanted Islands, as the Galapagos are also known. Each Galapagos cruise has its own established route, and prices vary depending on the quality and itinerary of the yacht.
